ABSTRACT

The purpose of the abstract is to give clear scope and objective of the research done. Also some of recent results should be included so that the Scientific Committee may determine whether the full manuscript will be of interest with regard to the scope of the conference. The abstract should be submitted as a word document through the conference website. Abstracts received otherwise or after the deadline will not be considered for review.

Elements of Abstract

The basic elements of the abstract are listed below in the order in which they should appear:

Conference header: Times New Roman, size 10, bold, UPPERCASE, right-justified. Should appear in two lines as follows
ADVANCED MATERIALS FOR APPLICATION IN ACOUSTICS AND VIBRATION
CAIRO, EGYPT, 4-6 JANUARY 2009
Should be followed by two 14 pt. line spacing.

Paper Tile: Should be short, concise and definitive. Times New Roman, size 14, bold, and centered. First letter capitalized with the exception of prepositions, units of measure or other technical terms that are conventionally written in lowercase.
Should be followed by one 14 pt. line spacing.

Author(s) names: Times New Roman, size 12, regular, and centered. Names of multi-authors should appear on the same line separated by commas. Author's name consists of First name, Middle initial and Family name, followed immediately by a superscript which refers to author's affiliation. The same superscript should be used for authors of the same affiliation.
Should be followed by one 12 pt. line spacing.

Affiliation: Times New Roman, size 10, Italic, and centered. Affiliation of the authors should appear in the same sequence of the authors. Each affiliation should appear in a separate line with no line spacing in between, and preceded by the superscript which references the associated author. Author affiliation should appear as followed: company or university (institution, college, etc.), department name or company division, mailing address, including city, state (spelled out), zip code, country, phone, fax, and e-mail.
Last line of affiliation should be followed by three 12 pt. line spacing.

Abstract body: Times New Roman, size 12, regular, and justified. Single spaced with a maximum length of 300 words.

Page setup & Margins: The entire abstract should not exceed one page. The abstract file should be written using A4 sheet size with portrait orientation that has about 38 mm (1 ??) margin on the left, approximately 25 mm (1") margin on the right, and about 25 mm (1") margins set for the top and the bottom of the page.

Keywords: Up to five keywords should be provided to indicate the research subject and/or technology area.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another conference for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Director).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. All URL addresses in the text (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca) are activated and ready to click.
  4. The text adheres to the abstract requirements outlined above.
